- Athey and Artillery!
We’re thrilled to announce We Eat Art‘s collaboration/partnership with Artillery magazine! Starting the first week of May, we’re going to be putting out an episode every two weeks, focusing on artists in the current issue of Artillery.
Our first episode coincides with the May/June Artillery issue “Who Are You”, focusing on body art. It features the legendary performance artist Ron Athey. It’s a wide ranging conversation about the use of the body in art and the use of artists in culture wars, among many other things. Our hosts Zak and John bring their usual conversational skill in talking to Athey, who offers a lot of insight and thoughts about how his art is made and how it’s been changing over his long career. Did Athey call Zak “a piece of work” at a certain point? What kind of large cats would he keep if he could take care of pets? Listen to find out! Subscribe in iTunes while you’re at it!
